UNIT 15: A RECORDED LESSON.
Read the passage ‘A RECORDED LESSON’ in your primary English pupils book 5 page 118 to 120.Try to get the meaning of the following words.
Repeat, quite, turn on, tunes, excited, pratise, nodding, tape recorder, stopped, music, carefully, pointed, guitar, continue, guess, timetable, welcome, set, and head teacher.
Using –er.
We use –er when comparing two things.
Example:
- The man in picture A is not very old, the man in picture B is older.
- Note:
- Old
- The road in picture A is not very wide, road B is wider.
- Wide
Other examples:
Note the word that ends in ‘y’, you change ‘y’ to ‘I’ before adding ‘er’
Heavy heavier
Some words we double the final letter before adding ‘er’
Examples:
Big bigger
Hot hotter
Wet wetter
