MULTIPLICATION OF MIXED NUMBERS BY WHOLE NUMBERS  

EXAMPLE :

7³/₄ × 6 = 

Change the mixed number into improper fraction .

Multiply the denominator by the whole number , then add  the numerator.  4×7 = 28 +3 =3

31× 6 =

4 

Simplify by a common divisor 

31 × 6 3

4 2

Multiply the numerators  31 × 3 = 93

= ⁹³/₂  change the improper fraction into  mixed number 

Divide the numerator by the denominator   93÷2 = 46 ¹/₂
