MULTIPLICATION OF DECIMALS.


When multiply a numbers with decimals, we calculate the number of decimal places and we also do so in the answer. If the decimal places are two in the question, they will also be two in the answer.
NB: Any number multiplied by a 0 is always 0. We don't write a 0 at the complete end of a decimal place. Example 2. 430 is written as 2.43

FRACTIONS 

Addition of fractions using  L.C.M

Example

2¹/₄ + 5^2/₃=

Add the whole numbers 2 and 5 to get 2+5= 7.

Find the L.C.M of the denominators 4 and 3 .  

The L.C.M of 4 and 3 is 2 ×2×3= 12

Add the fractions using the L.C.M

1/4+2/3 =³⁺⁸/₁₂

Divide 12 by the denominator 4

  ¹²/₄ =3   multiply 3 by the numerator 1 to get 3×1=3

Divide 12 by the denominator  3 

¹²/₃= 4 . Multiply 4 by the numerator 2 to get  4×2= 8

Add the fractions ³⁺⁸/₁₂=¹¹/₁₂

Add the whole number to the fraction

7+¹¹/₁₂=7¹¹/₁₂
